2008 4th Annual Tree Trimming Celebration

The St. Rita Ministry, a Domestic Violence Resource Ministry at Holy Family, would like to send a warm and gracious thank you to the entire parish for its continued support of our outreach to Harbor House of Central Florida, Orange County’s only safe shelter for battered women and children. December 2008 marks our 4th Annual Tree Trimming Celebration at the shelter, which was a huge success! To prepare for this event, we held a “Craft Party” in the Social Hall on Nov. 20th that gave the children of our parish community an opportunity to get involved in this outreach project by making crafts and decorations for the party at Harbor House. With the decorating, caroling, games, cookie decorating, crafts, face painting, gifts, Santa and Jingles the Elf, this Christmas will be a little brighter at the shelter! The many smiles, laughter, hugs and tears truly expressed their heartfelt appreciation and remind us of our call to serve and love others and to follow the example that Christ gave us.

We would like to recognize our local merchants for their generosity with donations for this event:

Publix
Fresh Market
Stonewood Grill
Le Chefs de France
Scholastic
Allstate
Event Specialists
St Theresa Catholic Church
Village Inn
American Greetings
Dr. Mike DiMauro
Dr. Juliana Lee

In addition, we are very grateful to the MOMS ministry and the Confirmation Class for their support.

Most of all, we sincerely appreciate the parishioners of Holy Family for their assistance, support and prayers throughout the last four years. Together WE CAN make a difference to the victims and survivors of domestic violence in our community and Orange County. The St. Rita Ministry wishes you and your families a very safe, joyful and blessed holiday!
